The eighth edition of Shà has gone into the archives, leaving behind multiple sensations and a kaleidoscope of emotions.
First of all, a truly heartfelt THANK YOU because each and every one of you made this evening magical.
Your appreciation and your presence are a reminder to always go ahead and try, even more, to deliver to you this event that we hope you have experienced as a timeless space in which to enjoy the atmosphere that Etna offers every day, accompanied by prestigious maisons of champagne and the beauty of the dishes that chef Giovanni Santoro creates every year in a completely new version.
For eight years now, it is truly wonderful to record the presence of the great friends of Shà who never fail to take an interest, and of so many new faces who become attached to this moment that comes from the heart that you help to make beat!
Today, we feel we can say, that Shà is your party, it is that moment of the summer that we look forward to because we know you will be there to fill it with smiles, toasts, joy and lightness. That is why Shà is Shà!
We must now wait 12 months for the next edition, which we are already thinking about!

The champagne and cuisine of chef Giovanni Santoro
Shà is a festival dedicated to champagne, and to chef Giovanni Santoro’s cuisine, based in the Michelin star restaurant Shalai. Every year, it has become a tradition that the last Sunday in August the Pennisi Family organizes a grand party here on the slopes of Mount Etna. This party is defined by an exciting selection of champagne available for tasting. A unique line-up that tells the story of maisons that certainly do not need to be introduced, as the drinks dance gracefully on your palate alongside the special dishes proposed by chef Santoro, exclusively for this party, which change every year. It’s a true party, taking place in front of the Shalai hotel, which is transformed to fit the occasion. The lights, the live music, the excellent champagne, the special custom-made cocktail prepared for the occasion by Taormina’s exclusive bar Morgana, and a tasting dinner with more than ten courses: all of this makes the essence of Shà! Every year we pick a theme to guide the event, to tell one of Sicily’s many stories to match the beautiful extended summer that lasts until late September. The Pennisi Family organized this party to spend nice moments with their guests, and to share the pleasures of the beautiful environment they created.
